Here is the latest ins and outs, potentially, for the Premier League giants.
Manchester United have been put on alert as target Benedikt Howedes is considering leaving Schalke in the summer. Manchester United have been handed a boost in their bid to seal the transfer of Inter Milan stopper Samir Handanovic. The Slovenian international has been heavily linked with a move away from the San Siro and with David De Gea’s future shrouded in doubt, he could be the perfect replacement for the Spaniard. Roberto Mancini admits he is unsure where the goalkeeper’s future is, which has fuelled speculation he could be on the move. (Metro)
Manchester United are set to finalise the transfer of PSV Eindhoven winger Memphis Depay this week, with the starlet set to undergo his medical in Manchester. It was confirmed last week that the Dutch international had been allowed to join the Red Devils and the last piece in the puzzle is a medical, which should happen within the next few days. (Metro)
Manchester United have initiated talks with Kevin De Bruyne’s agent ahead of a potentially remarkable €69 million (£50m) summer transfer to Old Trafford. The Belgian international has been in fantastic form for Wolfsburg this season and his performances are not going unnoticed, with Van Gaal keeping close tabs. (Metro)
De Bruyne has the most assists in the Bundesliga this season
After securing Depay Manchester United appear to be on the verge of signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan after it was revealed the Red Devils reached an agreement for the German international. Gundogan’s contract expires next year, but it seems he could be on the move in the next few months with Manchester United in pole position. (Sunday Times)
Manchester United’s £18million bid for Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne will be accepted ‘imminently’. The pacey right-back has been heavily sought-after in recent months and is yet to agree a new deal with Ronald Koeman’s men, which has prompted Van Gaal to consider a move. (Sunday World)
